Data Retention

Saved scan history and mailbox content currently remain until SteelGaze performs an operational deletion or completes a verified deletion request. Automatic 90-day deletion is not currently enforced.

Account records remain while the account is active and afterward as needed to complete deletion, meet legal obligations, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or secure the service. Disconnecting Gmail or IMAP stops future monitoring for that connection but does not automatically delete previously saved scans or mailbox records.

Self-service account deletion is not currently available. Send a request from your account email to [email protected]. We verify control of the account before deleting data and may ask for additional confirmation. Backups and legally required records may expire on separate operational schedules.

Use of submitted content for model improvement is disabled by default and requires explicit consent through the available contribution controls. Withdrawing consent stops future contribution under that setting. Contact support to request review and deletion of previously contributed samples; automated consent-withdrawal purging is not yet available.

SteelGaze intends to introduce automated retention, export, and self-service deletion controls. Those controls and any notice period will be documented only after they are implemented and verified. Until then, the current practices above apply.
